Urjanet Sandbox provides three mock electric utility providers to test our platform and to familiarize yourself with our data sets. These mock providers are capable to produce success and failure scenarios across Urjanet’s Identity Verification, Solar, and Credit & Lending products. This document contains details on what each scenario is and how to trigger it. You are able to send data requests to the mock providers through Urjanet Console and Urjanet’s API. In order to submit mock provider requests, you will need to sign up for a Sandbox account.

Key Terms & Definitions

In this section, we will cover the key terms and definitions to understand the sandbox scenarios.

  • Content: This describes the utility account data that will be returned. The data is a regular or atypical payment scenario.
    • Regular Scenario: Indicates that the data returned for data requests will be up to date account activity. Identity Verification and Solar products will always be regular scenario. Credit & Lending regular scenario indicates that utility statements were consistently paid on-time and in-full.
    • Atypical Payment Scenario: This only applies to Credit & Lending product. There are several unique content types to simulate atypical payment scenarios. For example, the data can indicate that the utility account holder partially paid the statement balance. These content type descriptions are in the table below.
  • Flow: Utility providers use different login workflows to access their website.
    • Real Time Credential Validation: Urjanet’s platform checks to see if the credentials are valid within 45 seconds and provides feedback to the end user. This feature is built into Urjanet Connect and is supported on the API via webhook notification. These mock scenarios are available with Urjanet Electric Provider.
    • Non-Real Time Credential Validation: Utility provider websites with slower response times are not supported by real time credential validation. Data requests for these providers will start in Pending status and resolve to a final status once Urjanet receives a response from the utility provider. These mock scenarios are available with Urjanet Electric Non RTCV Provider.
    • Multi-Factor Authentication: Utility provider website login workflow requires security question, one-time password, and/or multi-factor authentication. Mock provider scenarios for these workflows are available with Urjanet Electric MFA Provider.
  • Outcome: Refers to the end state of the data requests. We provide all possible success and failure scenarios to enable testing for edge cases.
  • Provider: Urjanet provides three mock utility providers to submit Sandbox data request. The providers are the following: Urjanet Electric Provider, Urjanet Electric Non RTCV Provider, and Urjanet Electric MFA Provider.
  • Username: Mock scenario username to submit Sandbox data request.
  • Password: Mock scenario password to submit Sandbox data request.
